Films in competition on July 19

Friendship, love, crime and mystery are among the themes of the features set to open the competition at the festival’s 49th edition.  Screenings start at 10:00 in Sala Truffaut with ROADS (Germany/France, 2018), a film by Sebastian Schipper dedicated to Generator +16 section, which follows dearest friends Gyllen and William on their journey to discover new awareness and prospects.

At the same time, in Sala Sordi, is on schedule for Elements +10 jurors YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE (China, 2018) by Xu Geng. It’s about a catastrophe falling upon a group of carefree children, whose passion for soccer is going to upset their lives forever. 

At 10:00, in Sala Lumière, Elements +6 kids will be challenged to solve the mystery behind an extraordinary and amazing adventure with JERRYMAYA’S DETECTIVE AGENCY – THE FIRST MYSTERY (Sweden, 2018), a film by Josephine Bornebusch.

In Sala Blu – Grimaldi Lines is the turn of STUPID YOUNG HEART (Finland, the Netherlands, Sweden, 2018) by Selma Vilhunen, an intense and moving  love story on schedule at 10:00 for Generator +13 jurors.

Screenings end at 19:15 in Sala Lumière, where Generator +18 youth will enjoy   GOLIATH (Sweden, 2018) by Peter Grönlund. The film tells the story of Roland and Kimmie, focusing on their lives heavily affected by crime and troublesome legacies.
