BIOGRAPHY
Antonio Catanìa was born in Acireale in 1952. He took his Diploma in acting in 1975 at Scuola d’Arte Drammatica at Piccolo Teatro in Milano. He then went on to better his skills with Mario Gonzales, Dominic De Fazio and Colombaioni. He was cast by director Gabriele Salvadores for Kamikazen - Ultima notte a Milano, Puerto Escondito and Mediterraneo.
He won the Nastro d’argento award for best actor in a supporting role in La cena by Ettore Scola.
After an important role in Pane e tulipani by Silvio Soldini, he featured in comedians Aldo, Giovanni & Giacomo's Così è la vita, Chiedimi se sono felice and La leggenda di Al, John e Jack, as well as in Carlo Verdone's Ma che colpa abbiamo noi and L’amore è eterno finché dura.
In recent years he has gone back to his first passion, stage acting.
