Claudio Cupellini has recently become a household name thanks to Gomorra - La serie. He made his debut in 1999 directing his first feature Le diable u vélo. Since then he has directed many shorts. In 2006, he worked with the likes of Michele Carrillo, Francesco Lagi and Roan Johnson. However success came in 2007 with Lezioni di cioccolato, starring Violante Placido and Luca Argentero. In 2010, his comedy Una Vita tranquilla won the Marc’Aurelio d’Argento award at the Rome International Film Festival and received three David di Donatellonominations in 2011. Last year his latest film Alaska starring Elio Germano and Astrid Bersès-Frisbey opened in cinemas and was received positively by critics.
