BIOGRAPHY
Chiara Francini was born in Florence. She is a popular face of Italian entertainment business. She started her career on stage and then moved on to making TV shows. She made her TV debut with BlaBlaBla and Stracult with Marco Giusti, who cast her for two permanent roles; she was then in Radio Sex, by Alessandro Baracco, and Le ragazze di San Frediano, directed by Vittorio Sindoni; in 2007 she was Marzia Meniconi, one of the leading players of Gente di mare 2.
Between 2007 and 2008 she featured in four films: Leonardo Pieraccioni's Una moglie bellissima, where she sang two songs from the musical Grease; Francesco Patierno cast her for Il mattino ha l'oro in bocca; Spike Lee gave cast her for his Miracle at Sant'Anna. In 2008 Stefano Tummolini offered her the role of Stella in Un altro pianeta.
In 2009 she was in the miniseries Le segretarie del sesto, by Angelo Longoni and Feisbum! Il film, by Emanuele Sana, based on the popular Facebook network. In 2010 she featured in Tutti pazzi per amore 2, by Riccardo Milani, where she played Bea and then in La donna velata, by Edoardo Margheriti.
She was one of the co-protagonists of the film Maschi contro femmine in 2010 and Femmine contro maschi in 2011, both directed by Fausto Brizzi, in which she played Marta, a gay girl. She won the "Guglielmo Biraghi" award in 2011, for Best Revelation of the year at the 68th Festival Internazionale del cinema di Venezia.
In 2011 she was in La peggior settimana della mia vita, directed by Alessandro Genovesi and was back on Rai Uno, where she played Bea in Tutti pazzi per amore 3 and on Sky Cinema, with Un Natale per due, where she played Carmen by Bizet. In 2013 she was one of the main charaters of the film Pazze di me, by Fausto Brizzi and Ti sposo ma non troppo, first feature by Gabriele Pignotta. The following year she was back on the big screen with Tutto molto bello by Paolo Ruffini, and Soap opera by Alessandro Genovesi.
In 2016 she was back on the big screen with On Air - Storia di un successo, directed by Davide Simon Mazzoli. She was then in the cast of Non dirlo al mio capo, huge success broadcast on Rai Uno directed by Giulio Manfredonia. Here Chiara plays Perla, a character very much appreciated by critics and audiences alike. She also fetaures in TV series Matrimoni ed altre follie, by Laura Muscardin, which has been on air since 1st June broadcast by Canale 5 in prime time. She also lends her voice to Matilda in Angry Birds, animation based on the famous videogame. She will soon feature in TV film broadcast by Rai Uno Piccoli segreti e grandi bugie, directed by Fabrizio Costa.
