Biography

Diego Germini, aka IZI, was born near Cuneo and grew up in Cogoleto (Genova).
When he was 17 years old he decided to quit school and run away from home, undergoing a tough time, between roaming and health issues. It was in that period that he started writing his first texts, real poems and short literature compositions. His troubled personal history was key to make his lyrics an instrument for communicating contents and messages with such extraordinary profoundness and complexity.
Meeting with Sangue (Rapper from Genova) marked the beginning of Izi’s artistic career. After recording several songs together, they entered Genova’s most interesting collective, Wild Bandana. 2016 and 2017 were very important years for his career, with a film as a protagonist ("Zeta", directed by Cosimo Alemà, 2016), two albums considered by the critics among the most interesting rap releases of that moment ("Fenice" 2016 - "Pizzicato" 2017) both certificate of Gold Record, various singles and collaborations with other important artists not only from the rap scene. At the end of October of last year, he published "Fumo da solo", first single from "Aletheia", already certificate as gold by FIMI (Italian Music Industry Federation) produced by Charlie Charles and Tha Supreme, followed by the release of "Magico" in January 2019.
