Antonio Palermo is 43 years old today, he is Councilor for Sport and Youth Policies in the Municipality of Cavallino in the province of Lecce (Puglia) but plays football as soon as he can.
His is the story of a boy who seemed destined for Serie A but who had to stop suddenly due to an illness that semi-paralyzed him and from which he managed to recover only thanks to his love for football and his willpower, which made him accomplish what many doctors found unthinkable. Today Tony is no longer the young promise of Salento but is a man who with eyes as bright as those of children, remains the boy who dribbled on the street with oranges, tennis balls, rolls of scotch or anything that could come to life between his feet.
