Domenico Croce was born in Rome on the 24th of August 1992. He studied Engineering at Sapienza University. In 2014 he won the Hobbit Fan Contest with the short film THE ROAD GOES EVER ON (La strada va sempre avanti): this experience brought him to New Zealand, where he visited locations and studios from “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings” trilogies and he had the chance to meet their director, Peter Jackson. In 2017 he graduated at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome and BELOVED (L’AMATA), his graduation short film, received a Globo d’Oro nomination in 2019. In the same year he directed the short film DISORIENTATI, winner of the second Job Ciak contest, and he completed ANNE, a short film and his first co-directing experience, selected at the Giffoni Film Festival. In 2020 ANNE won three of the most prestigious prizes at Cortinametraggio. In 2021 ANNE won the David di Donatello Award for best short film. One year after graduating from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, Croce is called to direct another short film and HAPPILY EVER AFTER (Felici e contente) is the result of his latest collaboration with the prestigious film school. He is currently working on VETRO, his first feature film, written by Ciro Zecca and Luca Mastrogiovanni, produced by Fidelio with Vision Distribution.
