Biography

Ludovica Lirosi is an Italian director, screenwriter, actress and producer, born in Rome on April 7th.

She began her studies at the drama school “Permis de Conduire”, where she took part in more than ten stage shows in the Agorà Theatre, Elettra Theatre and Parco Tiburtino Theatre in Rome. At the age of 17 she wrote, directed and performed “Le jeu du Theatre prima del Provino” (Le jeu du Theatre before the audition) at the Elettra Theatre in Rome. When she was 18 she worked as a radio speaker at Radio Incontro 105.8. In 2010, she attended the New York Film Academy and worked on several short films; later on, she was admitted to the Centro sperimentale di cinematografia (Experimental Cinematography Centre).

Following this, she produced and directed a web series in Spanish entitled “Desesperados”, which was selected in various international festivals.

In 2015, she wrote, directed and produced “Too much stress from my heart”, a full-length documentary about illegal immigration in Italy, shot between Morocco and Italy.

The film was screened at the Rome Film Fest as part of the Panorama section of Alice nella città, the parallel sidebar of the festival for the younger generations, and was also awarded the prize for Best Foreign Language Movie at the American Movie Awards. The film was later distributed in Europe by Mediaset and aired on Netflix from 2017 to 2019 in the USA, Australia, England, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa and Ireland. In 2019, Ludovica Lirosi wrote, directed and starred in the new TV sit-com “Desesperados”, performing in Spanish. In 2016, she founded a production and distribution company for feature films, documentaries, series, video clips and short films called “Lulifilm”. In 2019, she embarked on her musical career under the stage name of Julia Liros; her debut single “Me siento sola”, which she wrote and composed herself, hit over 1 million views on YouTube. Until now, she has written and composed seven singles in Spanish, English, Portuguese and Italian.
