Giusy Buscemi was born in Mazzara del Vallo, but grew up in Menfi, Sicily.

She moved to Rome, where she studied "Letters and Philosophy", at La Sapienza University and also began to study acting.

Two years later, she began working on the set of the RAI series "Don Matteo" and, again in 2014, in the mini-series "La bella e la bestia".

Later, she acted in the third season of "Un passo dal cielo", in the series "La dama velata e il giovane Montalbano". She gets the leading role in the series "Il paradiso delle signore" where she plays the audience's beloved character, Teresa Lorio.

2016 starts with a series of great successes: from the return on the set of the Anglo-Italian TV series "I Medici", to the leading role in the RAI miniseries "C'era una volta Studio Uno", set in the 1960s.

2017 is instead the year of her debut in cinema with the role of Alice Gentili, a freelance journalist, in the films "Smetto quando voglio - Masterclass" and "Smetto quando voglio - Ad honorem" and of a Latin teacher in "Arrivano i prof".

In the same year, she married the director Jan Maria Michelini, with whom she has had two children. Afterwards, she decided to take a break to devote herself to her family.

After the success of the series "Un passo dal cielo - i Guardiani" on Rai 1, as the protagonist, in autumn we will see her in the cast of the Rai series "Doc nelle tue mani".
