Biography

Vittoria Puccini is an Italian actress. In 2000 she makes her first appearance in the movie "Tutto l’amore che c’è" directed by Sergio Rubini. Since then she alternates between cinema and TV movies. She gets her breakout role with the Tv series "Elisa di Rivombrosa". Then she gets directed once again by Rubini, Pupi Avati, Ferzan Ozpetek, Gabriele Muccino, Lucio Pellegrini, Paolo Genovese and Renato De Maria. For tv she plays lots of roles: from Octavia in "Imperium" to the character of "Mafalda from Sanfrediano", the "Baronessa di Carini", the “deviated” patient cured by Basaglia and then "Violetta" based on Dumas’s work.
She is awarded the Telegrolla d’Oro as best actress in a tv series in 2006, she wins three times the Kineo-Diamanti Award and also receives the Golden Globet Award at The International Shanghai Film Festival for her performance in Gabriele Muccino’s "Baciami ancora" in 2010.
In 2011 the Women Association of audiovisuals gives her the Afrodite Award as “Actress of the Year”. The same year she is the godmother of the Venice Film Festival.
After being directed by Stefano Mordini in "Acciaio" and Ferzan Ozpetek in "Magnifica Presenza", she is back on tv screens with the powerful TV movie "Altri tempi" directed by Marco Turco. In 2013 she plays the iconic role of "Anna Karenina" directed by Christian Duguay. In 2014 she stars in the romantic comedy "Tutta colpa di Freud" directed by renowned Italian director Paolo Genovese. She also stars in the TV movie directed by Marco Turco, "L’Oriana", where she embodies the controversial role of famous journalist Oriana Fallaci. In 2015 she acts on stage the role of Maggie from "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof".
She also stars in the movie "Maraviglioso Boccaccio" from Award winning directors Paolo and Vittorio Taviani. In the same year she takes part in the first effort from actor-director Fabio De Luigi in "Tiramisù".
In 2017 she stars in the new movie "The Place" by Paolo Genovese. In 2018 she is the lead in the new tv series by director Francesca Archibugi, "Romanzo Famigliare". She stars in the movie "Cosa fai a Capodanno?" by Filippo Bologna. In 2019 she is the lead in a new Rai series "Mentre ero via". In autumn she will star in the Tv series "Il Processo".
