SEMEN GOROV
Born in 1971, he graduated from The Ivan Karpenko-Kary National Theatre, Cinema and Television University with a specialization in film directing. Semen worked as a director at the Lesya Ukrainka Russian drama theater. After that, Gorov began to make videos for Ukrainian artists, his work fast became popular both in Ukraine and abroad. He also worked for TV channels such as First National, Inter and 1 + 1 and directed about a hundred music videos and the musicals "Evenings on a farm near Dikanka" and "Cinderella".

Director's statement
"This is a coming-of-age story of one boy; it’s about believing in fairy-tales and trusting miracles to transform lives for the best, to grant joy, friendship and love. A small car with a hitch full of stuff is moving from a big city to a little town. Not everything is going well with a family in this car. A father and a mother are on the edge of divorce, a teenage daughter is surly because she has left the city life and her friends behind. The boy is very worried about the family atmosphere. We meet our main character in a wonderful period of his life: he’s grown up enough to comprehend life difficulties and yet is young enough to believe in miracles. He’s trying to hide from troubles in a computer game, but real adventures are waiting for him! If you believe in Santa Claus – prove it! This is what life teaches him, this is how the journey of the young “real warrior” starts: from weakness and dependence – to strength and confidence. […] The boy needs to discover the difference between fairy tale and cruel reality. He needs to take up the responsibility both for his safety and for his sister. This is the only way to get a real present – to become a hero. His family’s hero".
