Synopsis
Nina, a 16-year-old girl, dreams of adventure. Meanwhile, she spends the summer between her village in the south of France and the theme park where she works. Director's statement
"At the beginning, there was this desire to talk about the hinterland, not very visible in French cinema, about Béziers, about National Front, about racism in the villages without falling into the sociological thesis or make a regionalist film. I wanted to start from the place I grew up to make it more universal. I have a very strong belief in the relation between humans and their territory, their tribe, their pack. We always define ourselves through a culture and an identity and sometimes it happens that it is against another. But with the rise of nationalism, this relation with your land changes, we curl up on ourselves and it's not good. We are afraid of difference. […] To show this type of landscape was also a way to escape the clichés and bring mineral to the screen, to bring there the mountain, the stone, to bring another vision of the south of France. The project was for Nina to come out of this haven of peace and how she will bump into reality". (from Le Mag du Ciné)
