THREAD OF LIES by Lee Han (South Korea)
Reasons: The film deals with bullying without considering stereotypes and ordinary narrative solutions: it focuses on the world of young girls, the psycological aspect of violence and the power of social network in cyberbullying which can result in suicide. The screenplay does not deal with the classic good and bad sterotype, but it exploits the thriller investigation genre and highlights various aspects of youth issues. The story has apparently light moments inserted in a dramatic context, to show how our lives are a mix of situations difficult to predict.

BEACH FLAGS by Sarah Saidan (France)
Reasons: or the ability to narrate a story about the desire for change of Iranian women forced to limit their freedom of speech by unjust laws. The great determination for pursuing sports dreams, despite the scores of obstacles the leading player has to face, does not prevent her from stepping back when she needs to save a friend of hers. She shows great courage and an unselfish attitude by giving up her dream to help her friend and this represents a revolutionary gesture that helps build a more just society respectful of human dignity.
