Hosted by the Giffoni Experience in partnership with the Doha Film Institute, the second installment  of the Giffoni- Doha Youth Media Summit took place during the 45th edition of the Giffoni Film Festival  in July 2015.

The summit was the occasion for the official presentation of the Planet-Y network dedicated to young people aimed at creating a platform where all the participants will have the opportunity to promote their organizations and events and create cultural partnerships.

 Over the course of the three-day session the participants from over 20 countries, who included programmers and directors of film festivals for children and youth, and representatives from cultural organization with a vested interest in entertainment content for young people, had the opportunity to  examine key points and explore a number of issues and challenges but also present their projects for a collaboration under the Planet -Y umbrella

July 21

9.30 am – 10.00 am: Participants’ registration

10.00 - 10.30 am: Welcome coffee

10.30 am: Opening Remarks:

                Fatma Al Remaihi – Doha Film Institute CEO, Festival Director, Ajyal Youth Film Festival

11.00 am: Discussion

Planet–Y official presentation.

International Networks. The importance of the constitution of an International Network. The pros and cons of being part of a network according to the past experience of the participants and their expectations.

1.00 pm: Closing discussion

1.15 pm: Lunch

2.30 pm: Browsing the Festival activities.

5.00 pm: Truffaut Theatre: Tom Felton. The Star meets the Jurors.

7.00 pm: Lumiere Theatre: Focus on Qatar

9.30 pm: Dinner at the S. Francesco Monastery with the other Festival guests.

July 22

10.00 am: Discussion

Working with European Funds. How to benefit from the funding of the EU dedicated to cultural projects for children and youth.
How can the funding be used for projects in Extra European countries.
