#GIFFONI2018 WINNING SHORTS: CINEMA BRINGS FAMILY TOGETHER

Little Elements +3 jurors discovered, probably for the very first time, the magic of cinema inside Giffoni’s movie theatres. They awarded the animated short ANT (by Julia Ocker, Germany), the story of a little ant breaking all rules with its creativity.

BELLY FLOP by Jeremy Collins and Kelly Dillon (South Africa) won in Elements +6 section. Perseverance always pays off: a brave girl tries her hand at diving, careless of the talented athlete who is upstaging her.

Elements +10 crowned with glory the short GELATO – SEVEN SUMMERS OF ICE CREAM LOVE by Daniela Opp (Germany). At the beginning of the 20th century, Italians conquer German hearts with Italian gelato but, because of the war, Italians soon become enemies. The love story between German girl Rosa and Paolo, son of an Italian gelato-maker, is rudely interrupted. Generator +18 jurors chose TWEET TWEET by Zhanna Bekmambetova (Russia). Luba and her little sparrow friend do not know any fear.

Parental Experience, the section entirely dedicated to family, chose 2ND CLASS by Jimmy Olsson (Sweden): Charlotte, a high school’s new teacher, is attacked by a Nazi. After leaving the hospital, she discovers the aggressor is a student of hers.
