Registration is open for the juries of the 48th edition of the Giffoni Film Festival. From today, Friday, December 15, it will be possible to send your application to become part of the Giffoni 2018-2020 trilogy.

This year, there will be 4840 jurors ready to animate, through constructive debates and moments of reflection, the cinemas of the Cittadella del Cinema in Giffoni Valle Piana. Different categories: Elements +3 (from 3 to 5 years old), Elements +6 (from 6 to 9 years old), Elements +10 (from 10 to 12 years old), Generator +13 (from 13 to 16 years old), Generator + 16 (from 16 to 17 years old) and Generator +18 (18 yearsold and up). In addition, there will be 400 representatives of the "Parental Experience" section (50 more than last year). An absolute novelty for 2018 will be the addition of the "Senior Juries": a special quota of about 1000 giffoners distributed between sections +6, +10, +13 and +16. The students will be chosen only among those who have never participated in the Festival, and will join the jury also in 2019 and 2020. For the Elements + 6 and Elements + 10 sections it will be sufficient for youth to propose their candidacy, while for the Generator + 13 and Generator + 16, it will be fundamental for families to commit themselves to hosting a peer from an Italian region or from abroad - for all three editions - and to guarantee the participation of their children for the three years.

Elements + 3: will be 500 (200 more than last year). The section is dedicated to young children who during the school year 2017/2018 will have attended or will attend the kindergarten. Registration on the site will be available until seats are filled in. After January 31st we will send a confirmation e-mail to the families: the children must be accompanied by a parent in all the activities planned for them, which will go from 4 days to the entire duration of the Festival. The registration fee is 25 euros.

Elements + 6: there will be 1100 children aged between 6 and 9. The submission of the application will be possible until February 15th. If the expected number is exceeded, 550 seats will be drawn by 20 February. On the other hand, there will be 350 seats for those who will send their candidacy for the three-year period 2018/2020. The registration fee is 50 euros. There are reductions for some extraordinary cases, such as for families with more than one child in the jury.

Elements + 10: the jury will consist of 870 youth aged between 10 and 12. The submission of the application will be possible until February 15th. If the expected number is exceeded, 400 places will be drawn by February 28th. There will be 300 places planned for those who will send their candidacy for the three-year period 2018/2020. The registration fee is 50 euros. There are reductions for some extraordinary cases, such as for families with more than one child in the jury.

Generator + 13: 600 children aged between 13 and 15 will be selected. 270 will be chosen among Italian and international associations, institutions and festivals; 100 will be the Senior jurors, selected from a group of youth who took part in previous editions and who will guarantee hospitality; 180 through contests; 50 places planned for those who will send their candidacy for the three-year period 2018/2020. The submission of the application will be possible until January 15th, while the selected Seniors will be informed by December 20th. The registration fee is 50 euros. There are reductions for some extraordinary cases, such as for families with more than one child in the jury.

Generator + 16: will be composed of 550 boys and girls aged between 16 and 17. 220 will be chosen among Italian and international associations, institutions and festivals; 100 will be the Senior jurors, selected from a group of youth who took part in previous editions and who will guarantee hospitality; 180 through contests; 50 places planned for those who will send their candidacy for the three-year period 2018/2020. The submission of the application will be possible until January 15th, while the selected Seniors will be informed as early as December 20th. The registration fee is 50 euros. There are reductions for some extraordinary cases, such as for families with more than one child in the jury.

Generator + 18: will consist of 420 young people and adults aged 18 and above, including 50 veterans. 90 will be chosen among Italian and international associations, institutions and festivals; 30 will be the Senior jurors, selected from a group of people who took part in previous editions; 250 through contests. The submission of the application will be possible until January 15th. The registration fee is 50 euros. Registration in the Masterclass section  shall be completed by  31 March 2017: Further information shall be available in January. The masterclass will consist of  400 youth divided into 4 sections, 100 for each category: Masterclass Classic, revolving around cinema, art and culture; Masterclass Talk, dedicated to a wide range of talent; Masterclass Music, dedicated to music; and Masterclass Green, dedicated to the world of nature, environment and green topics.
