The call for submission is open for the selection of the films for the 48th edition of the Giffoni Film Festival

Submission open until May 31 2018 for all features (including documentaries) and shorts

To promote Films for kids: this is the core of the Giffoni Experience (Gex) and it has been such for almost 50 years. To become a cultural reference point for young people, the Giffoni Film Festival, conceived and directed by Claudio Gubitosi, brings together thousands of people every year from over 52 countries and with a very large age range (from 3 to adults with dedicated categories). In 2018, the Festival, scheduled from July 20 to July 28, is about to celebrate its 48th edition in the best of ways: selecting the most interesting international filmmaking offers for families. The event is co-funded by the Campania Region and the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities, with the support of the Province of Salerno and the town of Giffoni Valle Piana alongside Private sponsors.

Until May 31, 2018, it will be possible to submit films in the selection whether it be a feature film, a short film or a documentary. For over 48 years, the festival has been a benchmark for productions for children, teenagers and teenagers, as well as being the ideal place for lively Q&As between producers, authors, distributors and the young audiences. Elements + 3 (Animation shorts for children from 3 to 5 years old), Elements +6 (Feature films and short films for fiction and animation for an audience from 6 to 9 years old), Elements + 10 (feature films and fiction short films and animation for a 10-12 year old audience), Generator +13 (feature films and animation for an audience of 13 to 15 year olds), Generator +16 (feature films and animation for 16 to 18 years olds), Generator +18 (feature films and short films - animation only about children and young people but directed to an adult audience), GEX Doc (documentaries - feature films only - on childhood and adolescence) and Parental Control (fiction shorts).

Films produced from January 2017 or premiered from June 2017 are the ones that will be considered, and priority will be given to yet to be released opuses. As it pertains to the feature films, the screening of the opuses at other Italian festivals, the release in theaters or the television broadcast (in Italy) will result in the exclusion from the competition. The selection will be carried out in accordance to the unquestionable judgment of the artistic direction of the Giffoni Experience, which will communicate the final results only to the productions and distributions of the films chosen within June 15, 2018.
