“When Francois passed away – Gabriele Salvatores recalled – I cried as if I had lost a friend, therefore this prize makes me particularly happy”. This is how Oscar-winning director ended his meeting with the Giffoni Film Festival young jurors, while receiving the award named after great master Truffaut. After presenting the trailer of “The Invisible Boy 2”, together with protagonist Ludovico Girardello – who was also awarded with the Explosive Award – Salvatores encouraged the youths: “In your hands lies the responsibility of preventing the world from falling apart, and this is even more true in these difficult times we’ve been going through. I trust in you, together we will manage it. To a juror who confessed his dream of becoming a historian, he explained how a project begins: “An idea is like a leaflet coming up from a seed: in order to grow it needs to be with other leaves”.
