BIOGRAPHY:
Ivan Cotroneo is a writer and has recently started directing. He graduated in script writing in 1992in ROme at 'Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia' and won the Solinas, Moravia and Saint-Vincent Cinema , Merano Europa award.
Cotroneo has worked and collaborated on many scripts such as Mine Vaganti by Ozpetek, Chimera, 'I Vesuviani' by Pappi Corsicato, Renato De Maria' s Paz! and La prima linea, Daniele Luchetti's Dillo con parole mie, Riccardo Milani's Piano, solo, Maria Sole Tognazzi's L'uomo che ama, Luca Guadagnino's Io sono l'amore.
He has also written Un posto Tranquillo by Luca Manfredi, Pinocchio by Alberto Sironi, Storia di Laura by Andrea Porporati and Sissi starring Cristiana Capotondi, Tutti Pazzi per Amore, directed by Riccardo Milani. He also co-wrote TV shows such as L'Ottavo Nano, Mmmmhhh, BRA-Braccia Rubate all'Agricoltura and tallk show Parla con me. For the stage he has worked on the adaptation of Rules of Attraction by Bret Easton Ellis and Closer by Patrick Marber. In Italy he has translated works by Hanif Kureishi and Michael Cunningham, and published three novels: Il re del mondo, Cronaca di un disamore and La kryptonite nella borsa which he adapted for the cinema for his debut as a director.
Last april he started shooting his second feature, Un bacio. The story of three teenagers who go to the same school and have to deal with the angst of their age, first loves, the desire and fear of growing up.
