An Irish Goodbye marked the second collaboration of the duo Tom Berkeley and Ross White after their highly successful debut ROY, an internationally award-winning short film selected for the 75th BAFTA Awards. Coming respectively from Gloucester and Belfast, their journey begins with the theatre, their early works being finalists for the Bruntwood Prize, Papatango Prize and The Kenneth Branagh Award for New Drama Writing. They co-founded the Belfast-based Floodlight Pictures in 2020 as a vehicle through which to produce their own work. AN IRISH GOODBYE won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film at the 95th Academy Awards and was awarded Best Short Film at the 2023 BAFTA Awards.
