BIOGRAPHY

GIOVANNI VERONESI debuted as an actor in Pupi Avati "Una gita scolastica". He then went on to write screen plays and from 1985 to 1988 he raised to fame thanks to the comedies "All the Fault of Paradise", "Stregati" and "Caruso Paskoski di padre polacco". In 1987 he directed his first movie, "Marameo".  In 1993 he won the David di Donatello Award for "For Love, Only for Love", which featured Diego Abatantuono and Penelope Cruz.
He then worked together with Leonardo Pieraccioni and Massimo Ceccherini, for whom he wrote box office hits such as "The Graduates", "The Cyclone", "Fuochi d’artificio", "Il paradiso all’improvviso", "Io & Marylin". He has recently quit light-hearted comedies for more insightful scripts revolving around the universe of young people and feelings: "What Will Happen to Us", the trilogy "Manual of Love", "Genitori & figli - agitare bene prima dell’uso", "The Fifth Wheel" and the more recent "Non è un paese per giovani".
